FAQs

Q?

What is your phone number?

A.

Please call Joseph during standard office hours on 07936 711 098. If we are busy with a client or restoration work please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q?

Are you able to come to us?

A.

Yes absolutely. In the first instance contact us from the website or by phone and we will arrange a convenient time to visit you and assess the potential work, cost, approach and best way forwards.

Q?

Are you able to collect our furniture?

A.

Yes we have a van with secure, retaining straps and protective covers and are able to collect and deliver once the restoration is complete. Completed items of furniture are checked and shrink-wrapped with a protective covering prior to returning the item to you to ensure it remains in superb condition.

Q?

Where is Beeswax based?

A.

We are conveniently located in Horsham, West Sussex though our clients do come from a far wider catchment area due to our specialist skills and  excellent, professional reputation.

Q?

How long does it take to repair an item?

A.

Each item, whether furniture, painting, porcelain, glass or other delicate medium is assessed on its merit, intricacy of repair and restored accordingly. We will be happy to advise you during your appointment. In general, high quality, professional restoration should not be rushed but can also often be faster than you may imagine. We are also able to repair items on your premises where appropriate to do so.

Q?

Is it expensive to have an antique restored?

A.

Whether your antique item has personal, sentimental value, family or historical value or is simply in a poor state of repair, most items can be restored to their former glory given enough time and expertise. It is impossible to judge whether an item is worth restoring in advance of seeing it. However most clients have been absolutely delighted in their investment in restoring a piece and a restored antique makes a perfect investment for the future, often increasing its long-term value many times over.

Q?

Do you perform restoration work for the antiques industry?

A.

Yes we do. We have a long association with many of the leading London auction houses and have been involved in important restoration for major country house sales.
